How Dermaplaning in Houston Works
Step 1
We start the process with an initial consultation to better understand your individual needs and goals.
If you are a good candidate for Dermaplaning, you can expect your treatment to remove the vellus hair on the surface of the skin, which is the “peach fuzz” on your face. It does not affect the follicular structure of the hair, so it will have no effect on hair growth. It will grow back at the same rate, color and texture as before, no matter how many times you undergo Dermaplaning.
Step 2
A Dermaplaning blade will be used to gently scrape away the dead skin cells, oil and dirt.
It is a relaxing and pain-free treatment, unlike most other hair removal methods! If you have especially dry or dull skin, this treatment is perfect for you! Your hair grows back at the same rate, color and texture as before, no matter how many times you undergo Dermaplaning.
Step 3
The treatment only takes about 30-45 minutes. Dermaplaning removes approximately 21 days of dead skin cells.
The effects of Dermaplaning usually last approximately 3-4 weeks for most patients. You’ll want to wait 3-4 weeks between Dermaplaning treatments. Dermaplaning can help diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Dead skin cells can accumulate in the fine lines and wrinkles. By exfoliating the surface of the skin with Dermaplaning, fine lines and wrinkles will diminish.

Your skin can be more sensitive to the sun after Dermaplaning, as with any facial treatment or exfoliation, so you should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30) if you will be exposed to direct sunlight. You can apply makeup immediately after this procedure.
Absolutely! Dermaplaning prepares the skin to allow other treatments and skin products to deeply penetrate the skin, rendering them more effective!
