What is body sculpting?

Body sculpting (also known as body contouring) describes a procedure designed to reshape an area of your body.

It’s not a weight loss plan. Rather, some forms of body sculpting may involve removing excess skin, removing extra adipose (not for weight loss but for aesthetic purposes), and/or reshaping the area for your preferred contour. It is NOT a weight loss solution.

Emsculpt Neo uses non-invasive, non-surgical technology. Your target areas achieve firmer, tighter results, with more muscle definition and less body fat.

Frequently body contouring is used to address the results of significant weight loss and to target areas where weight loss/exercise has not been able to remove pockets of fat.

What is Emsculpt Neo?

BTL Aesthetics, creator of Emsculpt, dedicates itself to advancements in non-invasive body sculpting. Those efforts delivered the multiple-award winning Emsculpt Neo system.

The Emsculpt Neo 30-minute procedure still claims the title of the first and only treatment which eliminates body fat while simultaneously increasing muscle.

How does Emsculpt Neo work?

Building off of the groundbreaking Emsculpt system, Emsculpt Neo uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM®) to cause your muscles in the target area to contract. These super-maximal contractions, up to 20,000 per session, build muscle and strengthen the treatment area.

Imagine doing the most abs/crunches you can do in 30 minutes. Then do more. Then do more than that. Emsculpt Neo helps you contract the target muscles more than you could ever do on your own, creating efficient and effective muscle increase and contouring.

Emsculpt Neo also applies radiofrequency (RF) heating at the same time to the treatment area, which kills fat cells (apoptosis). Those damaged cells and their contents are flushed over time via the body’s natural processes, for permanent fat removal. Emsculpt Neo also does a small amount of skin tightening as it removes the fat to show off the newer contours even more.

According to several clinical studies, Emsculpt Neo achieved consistent elimination of fat and building of muscle. Recipients of treatment regimens averaged 25% more muscle, and 30% less fat in the treatment areas. Personal results vary.

What does Emsculpt in Houston feel like?

Your provider administers the Emsculpt Neo treatment via a paddle (or set of smaller paddles) placed on the target area. Once the treatment begins, you will feel a bit of a “pulling” sensation as the HIFEM energy makes the muscles contract.

At the same time, you’ll feel a heating sensation as the RF energy increases the temperature of the body fat in the targeted area.

The treatment is customizable, so the strength of contractions and the amount of heat can be adjusted to your comfort level. You shouldn’t feel any pain during the treatment.

Where can I apply Emsculpt Neo?

Emsculpt Neo treats five target areas:

  • Abdomen
  • Buttocks (a butt lift)
  • Thighs
  • Calves
  • Arms

The most popular treatment area is the abdomen. Not only does it give your abs an amazing workout in a short amount of time, it melts that super-stubborn belly fat, quite literally causing it to be gone permanently. It’s that fat that hides the scalloped look of 6-pack abs.

Now, imagine how that Emsculpt Neo process can make your arms more toned, your thighs more defined, your backside more rounded—but not by injections, and not by suction tubes inserted into your body.

All of it happens through working out the muscles and removing the fat without surgery.

Who is a good candidate for Emsculpt in Houston?

Emsculpt Neo works great for people who exercise regularly. Why they use Emsculpt Neo involves trouble spots.

These candidates go to the gym, do all they can—but still have some areas that won’t respond to the effort. They can’t define the muscles there sometimes because the correct workout can’t be found, or the workout itself doesn’t provide enough contractions. Also, that area may have fat trapped which diet and exercise just can’t seem to touch.

That’s where Emsculpt Neo truly shines. It supplements efforts, honing and sharpening the contours in the places where all those regular efforts just can’t finish.

Benefits of Emsculpt Neo

Emsculpt Neo in Houston: Results

Typically, providers of Emsculpt Neo recommend a series of 4 to 6 treatments spaced 2 to 7 days apart. After receiving the full series, your results will appear 2 to 4 weeks after your first treatment, and will continue to improve up to 4 weeks post your final treatment. Some clients experience immediate improvements directly after the treatments.

You can expect increased tone, strength, and fat reduction in the treatment area. A number of clients elect to have routine maintenance treatments to support their efforts. These people may also work in professions that require this aesthetic appeal, and they support their work through Emsculpt Neo.

Maintenance treatment plans usually start about 2-3 months after your last Emsculpt Neo treatment, based on a case-by-case analysis.

Another of the great benefits of an Emsculpt Neo treatment at ChristiMD: zero downtime.

Why building your core is important

Emsculpt Neo helps get your body toned and ready for anything. This FDA-cleared device strengthens your core: the muscles you have around your trunk and pelvis.

But why is it important to have a strong core? Beyond the aesthetics of a tight abdomen, your core muscles are involved in all your life. They’re the power-bridge between your upper body and lower body.

Think about things you enjoy doing, like swinging a golf club, playing tennis, or dancing. And think about things you may not enjoy but have to do, like mopping the floor, changing out laundry, or raking leaves.

Do you work in a job that requires lifting objects, twisting in directions, or even sitting in front of a computer for lengthy periods of time? These all utilize your core.

And, reaching for a glass of water, bending down to tie your shoes, standing up straight—you can see how your core muscles make life happen.

Weak core muscles can lead to poor posture (“slumping”), pain in your lower back, and injuries to muscles in—and beyond—your core. A weak core means problems doing some of the most basic, mundane actions, and can mean pain and injury for some of the more strenuous ones.

Diet and exercise are key to improving and maintaining your core. Emsculpt Neo can reward your efforts by helping them hit their goal—and taking them to the next level.

Treatment Time

You can expect to spend 30 minutes receiving Emsculpt Neo treatment. It does require a short amount of time to set up the pad(s), and the full amount of actual treatment time will vary. It depends on the number of treatment areas and their locations.

For Emsculpt, Hoston providers complete the sessions in their entirety usually within 1 to 2 hours. Because the treatment is noninvasive, with no recovery time, you can schedule it conveniently during your lunch hour.

FAQs

Can I use Emsculpt Neo as part of my weight loss?

No. Body sculpting/body contouring in general does not work for weight loss. You will receive targeted fat reduction with Emsculpt Neo, but the increase in muscle mass negates any minimal weight loss. The purpose of Emsculpt Neo is to help remove fat deposits that elude regular means of weight loss, and to help you build and define specific muscle groups in your target areas.

How much is Emsculpt Neo?

Your provider calculates the Emsculpt Neo treatment cost based on your desired goals. Those goals (number of areas, location of areas) determine the number of sessions necessary to achieve best results.

The flexibility of Emsculpt Neo’s non-invasive treatments means your provider can create a custom body contouring treatment plan fully tailored to you.

How long do Emsculpt Neo results last?

Generally, you’ll enjoy improved results for six months or longer. To ensure the results last as long as possible, you should maintain a healthy diet and exercise.

You can also talk to your provider about follow-up Emsculpt Neo sessions every few months to maximize your investment and keep that toned look going!

What is the downtime after receiving Emsculpt Neo?

Zero. After your Emsculpt Neo treatment, you may return to your normal routine immediately. Depending on your chosen intensity of the HIFEM treatment, you may experience some slight, temporary muscle soreness. Beyond that possibility, you’re free to do whatever you want.

How often can I have Emsculpt Neo done?

Every patient has a unique treatment plan based on their goals. However, most patients receive 4 to 5 treatments. These treatments get spaced apart depending on what your provider prescribes to produce the best results for you.
